El Nino (Nemo) - Gelding 2009

El Nino is a compact horse that is pure power. He is explosive off the floor with a vast amount of stride. He combines a quick, snappy front end with an incredible backend. He is not a complicated horse that can be ridden and competed by both men and women.

His sire Toulon is a top level Gran Prix winner by the supreme sire Heartbreaker, and he is now producing impressive international jumpers. His offspring are only young but they are starting to make an impact on the international scene. Toulago as a 9 year old finished 8th in the World Cup Final in Lyon 2014. Dadjak Ter Puttenen won the Grand Prix 4 star at Abu Dhabi in 2013. These are only a couple of examples of the top class horses he has sired.

His Dam line is just as remarkable; traced back to Cor de la Bryere who is one of the most influential sires in modern warmblood breeding. He is known as Reserve Stallion of the Century, second only to Landgraf (El Nino’s great grandsire). He is described as a gift as he passes in his incredible scope, technique, willingness and trainability. El Nino’s dam sire is Burggraaf has produced a arge number of international jumpers including, Peppermill, Burggravin, Now or Never and S’Blieft. Showing how he passes on his size, power and scope successfully.

Performance

El Nino has competed in young horses classes as a 4 year old, 5 year old and now as a 6 year old. He jumped 3 double clears in the 6 year old class at Chepstow International in 2015. He has recently moved up to 1.25m classes, which he has adjusted to with ease. El Nino came 2nd and qualified for the Winter Novice Final at Hickstead Royal International later in the year. The Welsh Masters' was a brilliant show for El Nino, he came 14th in the NAF Final. El Nino had a very successful scope, coming 7th in his Blue Ribbon Qualifier and reaching the final of the B&C as well. Whilst competing in Bonheiden, Belgium, El Nino recorded numerous double clears both in the CSI* 1.20m and the CSI** 1.35m. He won his Blue Chip B&C qualifier at Keysoe and has been jumping consitent clears with placing.
