Darien (Dizzy) - Mare 2008
Darien has now been sold to HK Horses, where she has gone on to win a CSI2* ranking class at Sentower Park with Morgan Kent and Richard Howley jumped clear in 2 1.50m classes on her at the 5* World Cup show in Amsterdam.
Darien is a superstar in the making; she has endless scope and is not only rising, but excelling at every challenge. She has proven herself throughout the young age classes and her consistency from a 4 year old is key to her success. She has been produced by a girl and is a joy to work and will try her best in every way for you in the ring.
Her sire Verdi is a top class jumping horse, competing currently in the Global Champions Tour at 1.60m. Whilst achieving an impressive jumping career, he is also an important breeding stallion. Verdi is a son of the world famous sires: Quidam de Revel x Landgraf I x Calypso I and Rigoletto. Father Quidam de Revel is a legend on his own. He has an impressive list of achievements and he himself participated in the Olympic Games and is also the sire of many international jumpers and approved stallions the world over. Grandsire Landgraf I is as famous as Quidam and has a long list of international jumpers and approved stallions. Verdi descends from the famous Holsteiner damline 474-a. A motherline that produced the approved stallions Calato, Colombo, Carlino, Loxgraf Go, Montreal, Aldato, Nimrod, Cavalier and Cicero, as well as the international jumpers Brillante, Spiga, Dehlia, Kira, Deka, Ishan and Edminton. Verdi’s dam Clarissa is a full sister to the mother of the Holsteiner stallion of the year, Calato.
Performance
Darien's most recent success was at Arena Uk Major Show Jumping Championships; she was placed 10th in the Star of the Future qualifier and went on to jump an incredible double clear finishing 3rd in the Final. She competed in her first international show this year, jumping at Chepstow International and going clear every day. She was 3rd in the 1* Grand Prix on the final day and jumped superb. It is clear to see when looking at her BS record how consistent she is, not only does she jump clear rounds regularly, she also has the speed to win classes. Last year as a 6 year old she jumped triple clear in the Newcomer second rounds, and a triple clear in the National 6 year old class and finished 12th in the final at Scope Festival. This was a massive achievement and shows the level of scope and consistency this mare has. Darien has successfully been placed on the 'Step up to Gold' programme, this is well deserved and the support from British Showjumping shows the level of her acheivements thus far and their belief in her to reach top level international showjumping. She had huge success at The Welsh Masters, where she came 2nd in the 8 year old Final. She competed in Bonheiden coming 3rd in the 2* speed class and came 10th in her first ever 2* World Ranking 1.45m Grand Prix. Recently at Scope Festival 2016 she was double clear in the World Ranking class, finishing 11th in the 1.45m accumilator class. Whilst competing in Bonheiden, Belgium, Darien came 4th in the CSI** 1.40m speed class. Darien picked up a 4th place int he Hickstead Winter B&C at Bishop Burton and at Blue Chip Championships came 8th in the Grand Prix warm up then finihsed 8th in the Blue Chip Grand Prix. She went onto The Welsh Masters where she finished 4th in the Grand Prix.
